The Vemuram Josh Smith Myriad Fuzz is a fuzz pedal from Vemuram, designed with guitarist Josh Smith. It is a smaller version of the larger Vemuram Josh Smith Myriad pedal1. Under the hood it is a hybrid take on a classic circuit: Guitar Pedal X describes it as "a super high-tolerance Hybrid variety of Fuzz Face with concealed Germanium and Silicon Transistors", one of each2.
What it does
The pedal's defining trait is volume. On That Pedal Show, Mick and Dan noted "it has colossal amount of volume in it" and that it can push a dirty amp hard1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson went further:
"This is about the loudest fuzz you will encounter anywhere - its potential output level is immense."
The range of sounds is wide. On That Pedal Show it was shown going from a completely gated, spitty fuzz, through a mid-focused sound, to a thick, woolly fuzz, and at minimum gain and volume it produces a rounded overdrive type sound1.
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Level | Output volume |
| Fuzz | Gain amount |
| Feel | Ratio of silicon to germanium transistor |
| Tone | Tone shaping |
| Bias | Germanium bias, accessible on the rear surface |
The Feel control is the unusual one. Because it blends the two transistor types, it changes more than the gain character: on That Pedal Show, the presenters noted "how the feel knob really changes the EQ response as well"1. The separate Bias control on the rear of the pedal sets the bias for the germanium transistor side of the circuit1.

Questions
What is the Vemuram Josh Smith Myriad Fuzz?
It is a fuzz pedal from Vemuram, designed with guitarist Josh Smith. The circuit is a hybrid Fuzz Face style design that uses one germanium and one silicon transistor, with a Feel control that sets the ratio between them. Reviewers describe it as one of the loudest fuzz pedals available, with enough output to push a dirty amp hard.
What controls does the Myriad Fuzz have?
It has five controls: Level, Fuzz, Feel, which sets the ratio of silicon to germanium transistor, Tone, and a Germanium Bias control accessible on the rear surface of the pedal. The bias control adjusts the germanium transistor side of the circuit.
