The Vertical Vexter Fuzz Factory is a fuzz pedal from Z.Vex, a vertically oriented take on the company's Fuzz Factory. MusicRadar reported its release in November 2017, describing it as offering "the exact same fuzz tones that made the original such an iconic stompbox, but rotates them into a more conventional enclosure"1.
What it does
The pedal is a variant of the Z.Vex Fuzz Factory, one of the most recognizable fuzz designs of the past few decades. What sets the Vertical Vexter version apart is not the circuit but the packaging: the original Fuzz Factory's wide, horizontal layout is rotated 90 degrees into a taller, narrower box that sits alongside standard pedals on a pedalboard. MusicRadar noted that Z.Vex had resisted this move for more than two decades before "finally given in to pressure for a Fuzz Factory that fits in with general pedalboard configurations"1.
The price matched the horizontal Vexter version at $1991.
