The Zoom B1 line is Zoom's compact bass multi-effects series: floor units that put bass effects, amp models, a looper and a rhythm section in one box. The line runs from the B1on to the B1 FOUR and B1X FOUR, and each is aimed at a bass player who wants practice tools and effects without building a pedalboard123.
What it does
Zoom describes the B1on as carrying "100 powerful bass effects and amp models"3, covering the usual bass ground from drive and filtering to time-based effects, all in one unit. The B1 FOUR and B1X FOUR are positioned by Zoom as "Bass Multi-Effects Processor" units4.
The practice side is where the B1 line sets itself apart from a single-purpose pedal. On the B1on, Zoom says:
"You can even construct CD-quality bass loops, perfectly synchronized to the onboard rhythm machine"6
