Glossary
trails
Trails are the fading repeats or decay of a delay or reverb effect that continue after a note ends. Sources use the term to describe the character of these decays, such as warm echoes and warbly trails from a delay pedal1, or delay trails with grit and grime that add to a vintage sound2. Trails can be modulated, as in long ethereal lo-fi modulated trails3 or super-modulated repeat trails4, or reversed as a delay algorithm option5. In reverb, trails may be highly animated6, shimmering high octave decays7, or long and modulated with ambient character8.
