The Anasounds Element is a spring reverb pedal from French maker Anasounds that works with genuine spring reverb tanks instead of modeling them digitally. Rather than one self-contained box, the Element is a compact control unit that connects to a separate spring tank, and Anasounds offered a choice of three tank sizes so players could pick how the reverb sits in their rig. Guitar Pedal X describes the pedal as having "took the world by storm" when it arrived at the start of 20191.
How it works
The Element splits the job in two: a compact enclosure control unit carrying 5 controls, and a real spring tank connected to it. Anasounds offered three tank sizes, "from the smallest 'Le Bon', then mid-size 'La Brute', and on to the largest 'Le Truand'", so the same pedal can be paired with a different tank depending on the space and depth of reverb a player wants1. The individual tanks are covered on their own pages for the Le Truand spring tank and the La Brute Spring Tank, and the tank switcher is Anasounds' companion for moving between tanks.
Versions and pricing
Guitar Pedal X lists the Element in bundles built around the tank choice, with prices given in both euros and US dollars as of August 20241:
| Bundle | Tanks included | Price (as of 2024-08-29) |
|---|---|---|
| Le Bon Bundle | Smallest tank, Le Bon | €299 / $3291 |
| La Brute Bundle | Mid-size tank, La Brute | €319 / $3491 |
| Le Truand Bundle | Largest tank, Le Truand | €399 / $4491 |
| Element Premium Bundle | All 3 spring tanks | €449 / $4991 |
The Element Spring Reverb Premium Bundle is the version that includes all three tanks, letting a player swap between the smallest and largest springs on one control unit1.
From Element to La Grotte
The Element is also the pedal that led to Anasounds' signature collaboration with Jack White's Third Man Records. Guitar Pedal X reports that the Element was later evolved into La Grotte, a one-box solution that combines the Le Bon spring tank and the control unit in a single enclosure with a third spring added, created as the signature Jack White / Third Man Records spring reverb1. That pedal is covered separately on the Anasounds/Third Man Hardware La Grotte page.
The Element's prices above are bundle prices as reported by Guitar Pedal X in August 2024, given in euros and US dollars as stated; they may have changed since.
