The Anasounds tank switcher is an accessory for the Anasounds Element spring reverb pedal. It lets you connect three spring tanks to the Element at once and switch between them instantly with a footswitch, without having to disconnect and swap tanks by hand. Anasounds calls it "the ideal switcher to exchange the tanks of your Element reverb without having to disconnect them!"1
What it does
The Element uses external spring tanks for its reverb, and different tanks give different spring characters. Normally, changing the tank means reaching behind the pedal and swapping cables. The tank switcher removes that step: all three tanks stay plugged in, and each press of the footswitch moves from one tank to the next. Three LEDs on the switcher show which tank is currently in use1.
How it connects
Setup is a matter of four mini jack cables:
- Connect the mini jack at the bottom of the switcher to the Element's mini jack socket1.
- Connect each of the three tanks to the switcher's three remaining mini jack sockets1.
From there, the footswitch handles all tank changes1.
The switcher is an accessory, not a standalone effect: it works with the Element pedal and does nothing on its own. It is the same size as the Element, so the two sit together neatly on a board1.
Questions
How many tanks can the Anasounds tank switcher connect?
Three. The switcher connects three spring tanks to an Element pedal, and each press of the footswitch moves to the next tank. Three LEDs show which tank is currently in use, so you can see your selection at a glance on stage or in the studio.
Does switching tanks require rewiring?
No. Anasounds designed it so the tanks stay connected: you plug the switcher's mini jack into the Element's mini jack socket once, connect each tank to the switcher, and then change tanks instantly with the footswitch instead of disconnecting and swapping cables.
