The Beetronics FX Whoctahell V2 Low Octave Beeast Babee Edition is a fuzz pedal with two low-octave voices, each with its own volume control so you can blend the mix yourself1. Beetronics describes the fuzz side as "raw drive/fuzz that blends effortlessly with the octaves for a sound like no other"1. It is a smaller-format Babee edition of the Whoctahell Sub Octave Fuzz2, and it is sold out1.

A fuzz with two low-octave voices

The pedal carries three voices: the fuzz itself, an octave one step below your playing, and an octave two steps below. Each has an independent volume control, which is what lets you set how much sub-octave weight sits under the fuzz rather than taking a fixed blend1. The pedal is monophonic, and Beetronics is upfront about what that means: it delivers "unpredictably glitchy square wave octaves in the best way possible"1. For a player, that means single-note lines track as square-wave sub octaves, while chords collapse into glitch, which is part of the character of this kind of octave fuzz rather than a fault.

The three controls map directly onto the three voices2:

WhoctaLevel of the voice one octave down
HellLevel of the voice two octaves down
HoneyFuzz level

From the first Beetronics pedal to the Babee edition

The Whoctahell v2 is a reimagined take on the very first pedal Beetronics ever made, now more versatile, compact, and affordable1. The builder notes it was also the first pedal he ever built for his own pedalboard1. The V2 run was limited to 300 units, of which 40 were Custom Shop versions and 20 were Black Bee limited editions1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson wrote that he "snagged one of the super rare Black and Gold ones"2.

The Babee name refers to Beetronics' smaller-format pedal line5, which also includes the Fatbee overdrive and the Octahive v2, itself a Babee Series version of the original Octahive6. The Whoctahell Babee edition follows the same pattern: the full-size Beeast circuit shrunk into the compact Babee box2.

"Beetronics has had a really strong year this year!"
Stefan Karlsson, Guitar Pedal X2

Availability

The Whoctahell v2 is sold out on Beetronics' product pages17. Players hunting one secondhand will want to confirm which edition a listing is, since the 300-unit run included standard, Custom Shop, and Black Bee versions1.

Questions

What do Whocta and Hell do on the Whoctahell?

They are the two octave volume controls. Whocta sets the level of the voice one octave below your guitar, and Hell sets the voice two octaves down. A third control, Honey, sets the fuzz level, so you can blend the dry fuzz with either or both sub-octave voices to taste.

How much did the Whoctahell Babee Edition cost?

Guitar Pedal X listed the Whoctahell V2 Low Octave Beeast Babee Edition at $149 when it covered the pedal in December 2024. Beetronics' own product page showed a regular price of £115.00. The pedal has since sold out.

Can the two octave voices be blended separately?

Yes. The fuzz and the two low-octave voices each have independent volume controls, so you can dial in any mix of fuzz, one octave down and two octaves down. The pedal is monophonic, so chords produce glitchy square-wave octaves rather than clean tracking.

What is the Beeast version of the Whoctahell?

The Beeast is the limited reissue of the Whoctahell, Beetronics' low octave fuzz. The V2 run was capped at 300 units, including 40 Custom Shop versions and 20 Black Bee limited editions. The Babee edition is the smaller-format version of that pedal.
