Beetronics Vezzpa Octave Stinger Babee Series

The Beetronics Vezzpa Octave Stinger is an octave fuzz pedal with two voices: FUZZZZ, a thick gated fuzz for riffs, and STINGER, an aggressive high-octave fuzz. Beetronics describes STINGER as "a searing high-octave fuzz that cuts through any mix"¹. The pedal is built around an op-amp circuit² and belongs to the Babee Series, the compact range that also includes the Octahive²³⁴. Guitar World's review lists its origin as the USA⁵.

The pedal has appeared in a long line of limited editions and Custom Shop units, most of which are now sold out on the Beetronics webstore⁶⁷⁴.

What the two modes do

The Vezzpa's appeal is the split between its two fuzz voices, selected with a multi-function switch that can also access them momentarily¹³.

On STINGER, Beetronics says the pedal "gets aggressive, bringing up the high octave and cutting through the mix"¹². The multi-function switch lets a player select a mode or momentarily dip into the other one, which suits quick stabs of the high octave over a gated fuzz base¹³.

Guitar.com, reviewing the pedal for its Best Premium Effects Pedals of 2021 feature, described the sound in its own words¹⁵:

The Babee Series

The Babee Series listing on the webstore shows a regular price of £154.00¹⁷.

The package weight is 0.75 lbs / 0.5 kilos¹⁰, and the package size is 6.75" x 5.25" x 3.25"¹¹. The pedal's own dimensions are given as 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"²⁰. Guitar World's review lists the origin as the USA⁵.

The Hive Happiness Guarantee

Beetronics' return policy for the Vezzpa appears in two forms on its product pages, and the maker's own pages disagree on the term. Some pages carry a 14-Day Hive Happiness Guarantee heading, described as a 14-day money back guarantee¹¹. Others describe a 30-Day Hive Happiness Guarantee, with shipping not included and a request to email within 30 business days of receiving an order for an RMA form¹². Both terms are given here as the maker states them.
