The Beetronics Wannabee Beelateral Buzz is a dual overdrive pedal that pairs two of the most copied circuits in the overdrive world in one enclosure: a Klon-style side and a Bluesbreaker-style side. MusicRadar's Jonathan Horsley described it as inspired by "two classic overdrives, the Klon Centaur and the Bluesbreaker"1, while Beetronics' own product pages call it "A dual overdrive inspired by the Bluesbreaker and Klon, done in a way only Beetronics could do"2.

Each circuit is a complete, independent drive with its own three knobs, its own three-way voicing switch and its own footswitch, so the pedal works as two overdrives, either alone or stacked. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, reviewing the pedal at launch, summed up the concept as "Beetronics' Wannabee Beelateral Buzz combines Klone and Bluesbreaker overdrive in a compact dual-channel pedal"3.

Controls: two of everything

The layout mirrors the pedal's dual nature. Every control is duplicated, one full set per circuit, so neither drive compromises for the other5.

The Mode switch and the Order switch

The two three-way Mode switches do different things depending on which side they sit on. On the Klon-style side, Beetronics says the switch "controls how much clean signal blends in (None, Medium, Full)"2, which is a nod to the clean blend behavior players associate with a Klon. Guitar Pedal X lists the same switch as "Mode : 1 No Clean Blend / 2 Medium Blend / 3 Full Blend"4.

On the Bluesbreaker-style side, the switch works as an EQ voicing instead. Guitar Pedal X lists it as "Mode : 1 Mid Boost / 2 Flat / Low Boost"3, giving the Bluesbreaker channel three tonal starting points.

For stacking, the pedal has a series mode with a switchable order. Beetronics' FAQ on the product page answers the question directly: "Yes. You can choose which circuit comes first when stacking the drives in series"6. That means either the Klon-style or the Bluesbreaker-style circuit can be the first stage the guitar hits, which changes which drive's character leads when both are on.

Price and versions

Guitar Pedal X lists the Wannabee Beelateral Buzz at $299, both in its December 2024 boost and overdrive buying guide4 and again in its September 2025 Klon roundup, where it appears as "Beetronics Wannabee Beelateral Buzz Dual Overdrive (Klon-Breaker) - $299"10.

On Beetronics' own store, the standard Bee Stock version is listed at £230, with a sale price of £184 shown alongside it11. A Custom Shop version is listed at £3079. The maker's pages do not agree on a single current UK figure, so treat those as the listed prices on each product page as of late October 2026.

What reviewers said

Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson has returned to the pedal more than once. In the site's 2024 buying guide for boost and overdrive pedals, he wrote: "both circuits are among the best of those respective genres - and the additional EQ Modes really elevate this pedal."4

Questions

What does the Order switch do on the Wannabee Beelateral Buzz?

When you stack the two drives in series, the Order switch lets you choose which circuit comes first. Beetronics puts it plainly: you can choose which circuit comes first when stacking the drives in series, so either the Klon-style side or the Bluesbreaker-style side can feed the other. That changes how the two gains interact and which character dominates the stacked sound.

Can you run the Klone and Bluesbreaker sides at the same time?

Yes. Each drive has its own dedicated footswitch, so you can use either circuit on its own or both together. When both are on in series mode, an Order switch decides which circuit comes first in the chain, letting you set whether the Klon-style or Bluesbreaker-style drive pushes the other.

What do the three Mode settings change?

Each side has a three-way voicing switch, and the two do different things. On the Klon-style side, the Mode switch controls how much clean signal blends in, with None, Medium and Full settings. On the Bluesbreaker-style side, Guitar Pedal X lists the settings as 1 Mid Boost, 2 Flat and 3 Low Boost.

What do Honey and Taste control?

Each of the two circuits gets its own Honey, Taste and Volume knobs. Honey is the gain control, Taste is the tone control, and Volume sets the level. Because the knobs are duplicated per circuit, each drive can be dialed in independently before you stack them.

How much does the Beetronics Wannabee list for?

Guitar Pedal X lists the Wannabee Beelateral Buzz at $299, in both its December 2024 buying guide and its September 2025 Klon roundup. On Beetronics' own store pages the pedal is listed at £230, with a sale price of £184 shown, and a Custom Shop version listed at £307.
