The Buzzing Bugs Bolster Dual Fuzz is a dual fuzz pedal from Buzzing Bugs Audio Devices that puts two different fuzz circuits in one enclosure. One side is a high gain silicon fuzz built around three 2N5088 transistors in a Tone Bender MKII adjacent circuit; the other, the More channel, is a single-knob OpAmp fuzz that Guitar Pedal X describes as a speaker-destroying fuzz1. The pedal continues the maker's Cornish Legends series, named after a Cornish livestock- and child-eating giant, or ogre1.

Two fuzz channels in one pedal

The transistor side covers drive, fuzzy-drive and searing high gain fuzz, while the More channel comes in high-octane via its single Master control, adding high-octane output on top of the classic tones1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson summed it up:

"It's a great take on fuzz - giving you weapons-grade output on top of classic tones - depending on exactly how you want"

The Volts / Starve control sits on the silicon fuzz side, letting the player starve the circuit's voltage, a long-standing trick for changing how a fuzz behaves1. Shift acts as an input gain control, working alongside Gain to shape how hard the circuit is pushed1.

Questions

What does the More channel do on the Bolster Dual Fuzz?

The More channel is a single-knob OpAmp fuzz that Guitar Pedal X describes as a speaker-destroying fuzz. It comes in high-octane via its single Master control, adding high-octane output on top of the transistor side, which covers drive, fuzzy-drive and searing high gain fuzz.

What does the Volts / Starve control do?

Volts / Starve is a control on the high gain silicon fuzz side of the pedal. It sits alongside Gain, Tone, Master and Shift on that channel, and lets the player adjust the voltage the circuit receives, a common way to shape how a fuzz sags and breaks up.

What does the Shift knob do?

Shift acts as an input gain control on the high gain silicon fuzz channel. Working alongside the Gain control, it shapes how hard the fuzz circuit is driven at its input.

How much does the Bolster Dual Fuzz cost?

As of the preorder listing in April 2026, the price was £179 from the Buzzing Bugs store, with shipping from the 1st of May, according to Guitar Pedal X.

Who makes the Bolster Dual Fuzz?

The Bolster Dual Fuzz is made by Buzzing Bugs Audio Devices, a fuzz-focused pedal maker whose debut pedals, the BB01 Fuzz Preamp and BB02 Percolator Fuzz, appeared in 2023.
