The Caveman Audio EX2 module is an expansion module for a switching system. It plugs into the maker's SC1 and adds 9 direct access switches, so a player can reach individual loops or effects with one press instead of paging through banks on the controller1. For anyone running a large rig on an SC1, that means instant access to more pedals, whether those are overdrive, delay or preamp units.
What it does
The EX2 is an expansion module for the SC1 MIDI foot controller, a switching system from Caveman Audio1. The SC1 handles the switching and MIDI work for a rig; the EX2 extends it with 9 extra switches dedicated to direct access, as the maker puts it: "Expand your SC1 with 9 direct access switches." In practice, direct access means each switch is tied to a single loop or function, so the player presses once and that device is on or off, without a bank-down, bank-up dance in the middle of a song.
Price and availability
Caveman Audio lists the EX2 at 5.995,00 kr. DKK, a price given in Danish kroner on the maker's own page and not converted here1.
The EX2 is an add-on, not a standalone controller: it expands an SC1. A player without an SC1 starts with the controller itself.
