A Danish builder with 25 years behind it
Caveman Audio presents itself as a company with deep roots in building gear for working professionals. In its own words135:
"We have more than 25 years of experience in designing and building products for the top artists in the music industry."1
That experience sits behind the whole product line, from compact pedals such as the BP1 Compact and AP1 Compact to larger units like the BP1 preamp pedal, the SC1, the BR1, the MR5 loop system and the BAS1 Bass Channel rack unit. The company also builds modules such as the EX1, plus the BC1 Compressor, the BC1 Bass Compressor, the AP1, the BF2M, the ACC1 and the Caveman ODR1365.
All of it is made in Denmark. As the company puts it:
"Our products are designed and handcrafted in Denmark, ensuring top-notch quality and reliability."2
Steen Skrydstrup, founder
Caveman Audio was founded by Steen Skrydstrup, who is also credited as the designer of the individual products, including the BP1, the SC1 and the BAS1 Bass Channel657. The Skrydstrup name runs through the company's own warranty language, which covers "all Caveman Audio and Skrydstrup products"3, so the two brands share a lineage under the same founder.
Skrydstrup describes the BAS1 Bass Channel in personal terms:
"This is my masterpiece that I am very proud of."7
Artists who have used Caveman Audio gear
Caveman Audio says its client list over more than 25 years includes some of the biggest names in rock. The company states213:
"We have worked with people like David Gilmour, The Edge, Steve Morse, Scorpions, Rammstein, Muse and many more"2
The company does not tie named players to specific products, so the list reads as a client roster rather than an endorsement of particular pedals.
Warranty and support
Caveman Audio backs its gear with one of the longer warranties among pedal builders. Every product page carries the same terms3:
- 10-year warranty on all Caveman Audio and Skrydstrup products3489
- 30-day money back guarantee on all products3
For support, the company lists a phone number and email address on its product pages, alongside its street address in Egtved, Denmark4.
Caveman Audio's warranty language covers both Caveman Audio and Skrydstrup products, so owners of gear carrying either name are covered by the same 10-year terms3.
