The Champion Leccy Evil Twin is a double boost, distortion and fuzz pedal: two of the maker's Wee Fettle Boost circuits built into a single enclosure, covering everything from clean boost through distortion and fuzz to oscillation, octave and feedback sounds1. Champion Leccy has been making limited quantities of handmade pedals since 2017, and Delicious Audio calls the company one of the most interesting DIY boutique pedal builders in the US2. All Champion Leccy pedals and devices are designed and handbuilt in Philadelphia3.
What it does
Each half of the pedal is a boost at heart, and the Gain knobs on each channel adjust how dirty the sound gets, from boost through distortion and fuzz1. Beyond the conventional drive sounds, Pedal of the Day describes the Evil Twin as boasting oscillations, octaves, fuzz and feedback, bringing what the reviewer called "a fury of thundering, powerful tones representing a number of different genres"1. The maker's own product page calls it "one of the original chaos noise loudness oscillation machines from the early days of Champion Leccy"5.
The clean boost side earned particular praise in the 2017 review:
"The clean boost is superb here, un-coloring, powerful and crystal clear"
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Gain (each channel) | Adjusts how dirty the sound is, from boost to distortion and fuzz1 |
| Boost switch | Engages the boost function1 |
| Toggle switches | Labeled only with question marks and exclamation points; their function is unexplained1 |
The mystery toggles are the pedal's defining quirk. Pedal of the Day noted that with their only labels being question marks and exclamation points, aside from the Boost switch, "we have no clue" what they do1. Players buying into the Evil Twin are buying into that uncertainty as part of the design.
Versions and price
Champion Leccy lists the Evil Twin at $230.00 USD, a price carried on both the standard product page and the yellow finish version as of October 202645. A limited run version is also listed at $230.00, and the builder states he has parts for about 30 units in total65.
The Evil Twin is a limited production pedal from a small handbuilt operation. Beyond the maker's own limited run, one-of-a-kind versions have been sold through Champion Leccy's Reverb.com shop1.
A pedal of the same name exists from Harley Benton, but it is a different product from a different maker. MusicRadar reported its launch in July 2022 at £67 or €79.257, and the review noted it offers options to change the order of its two circuits for stacking, as well as two voices for each8. It shares only the name with the Champion Leccy original.

Questions
How much does the Champion Leccy Evil Twin cost?
Champion Leccy lists the Evil Twin at $230.00 USD on its product page as of October 2026, and the yellow finish version carries the same $230.00 price. The limited run version is also listed at $230.00. Harley Benton sells its own separately made pedal of the same name at a much lower price, £67 or €79.25 when it launched in 2022, but that is a different product from a different maker.
What do the question mark and exclamation point switches do on the Evil Twin?
The Evil Twin's toggle switches are labeled only with question marks and exclamation points, and their function is not explained. Pedal of the Day's 2017 review noted that aside from the Boost switch, the only labels are question marks and exclamation points, and the reviewer admitted to having no clue what they do. The Gain knobs on each channel are the more conventional control, adjusting how dirty the sound gets.
Can the Champion Leccy Evil Twin make feedback and octave sounds?
Yes. Pedal of the Day describes the Evil Twin as producing oscillations, octaves, fuzz and feedback, along with boost and distortion tones. The maker's own product page calls it one of the original chaos noise loudness oscillation machines from the early days of Champion Leccy. Using the Gain knobs on each channel, a player can move from clean boost into distortion and fuzz territory.
Where are the one-of-a-kind Evil Twin pedals sold?
Pedal of the Day's review points players to Champion Leccy's Reverb.com shop to see what one-of-a-kind creations are waiting. Separately, the maker's own site lists an Evil Twin limited run, with the builder stating he has parts for about 30 units in total. All Champion Leccy pedals are designed and handbuilt in Philadelphia.
