The Dr. No Art SkullFuzz Flock Edition is a limited fuzz pedal from Dr. No Effects, built around the same fuzz circuit as the original SkullFuzz and housed in a skull-shaped enclosure finished in red flock, a velvet-like textured coating. It belongs to the maker's Analog Imaginarium line, where the pedals are treated as art objects as much as effects, and Dr. No describes it as "a fusion of art and madness that will leave even the most seasoned collector trembling with anticipation"1.
Only two were made. Dr. No calls it a limited edition of a limited edition: "Only two Art SkullFuzz units shall be crafted, adorned with a mesmerizing red flock"1. It was listed at € 525.001.
Where the Flock Edition comes from
The Flock Edition is an offshoot of the Art SkullFuzz, which began in April 2016 as a limited run of 25 handcrafted units. That run came out of the 2016 Fuzzadelic SkullShow expo, where a standout piece was Peter van Elderen's interpretation of the SkullFuzz, which Dr. No brought to life as the original Art SkullFuzz edition3.
In June 2025 the maker announced the Art SkullFuzz's return, again as a run of 25 handmade pedals, this time in Silver, Black, Copper and Gold editions, sold through an invitation-only presale and priced like the original edition3. The Flock Edition sits alongside that run as a much smaller, red-flocked variant1.
How it differs from the other Art SkullFuzz versions
All of the 2025 Art SkullFuzz editions share the same fuzz circuit as the original SkullFuzz, which the maker describes as "the same insane, versatile, and powerful fuzz circuit as the original SkullFuzz"456. What separates them is the finish and the size of each run.
| Version | Finish | Units made | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flock Edition | Red flock | 21 | € 525.001 |
| Gold Edition | Gold | 25-unit run (original 2016 edition)7 | € 475.005 |
| Silver Edition | Silver | 12 total, numbered, handsigned4 | € 475.004 |
| Black Edition | Black | 25-unit run | € 475.005 |
| Copper Edition | Copper | 12 total, numbered, handsigned6 | € 475.005 |
The numbered 2025 editions carry a unit number and date, for example "No# 07/12, 2025 Handsigned by Dr. No"4. The maker priced the Black and Copper editions "like the original edition, but only for a limited time and while supplies last"62.
The flocked SkullFuzz family
Flocking, the maker's textured coating technique, appears on several other SkullFuzz builds beyond the Flock Edition89:
- A Yellow Black Flock Art SkullFuzz, hand made by Dr. No Effects in December 2025, of which only one was made and which is not for sale2.
- The All Black Flocked SkullFuzz, limited to two units, where the maker says his "black flocking" technique gives the pedals "a menacing aura"8.
- A Yellow Black Flock SkullFuzz made for Jack White, of which only two were made and which is not for sale.
For a player, the practical difference between these and the standard editions is mostly collectibility: the circuits are the same SkullFuzz fuzz circuit, while the flocked finishes and tiny run sizes make each one close to a one-off643.
Questions
How many Dr. No Art SkullFuzz Flock Editions were made?
Only two. Dr. No Effects describes the Flock Edition as a limited edition of a limited edition, with just two Art SkullFuzz units crafted, each finished in red flock. That makes it one of the smallest SkullFuzz runs the maker has offered.
What does the Flock Edition come in?
It comes in a handmade wooden box. The pedal itself is part of Dr. No's Analog Imaginarium art line, with a flocked skull and base, so it is presented as a collector's piece as much as an effects pedal.
What other colors of Art SkullFuzz exist?
The 2025 return of the Art SkullFuzz came in Silver, Black, Copper and Gold editions, with only 12 made of each color, numbered and handsigned by Dr. No. There have also been flocked one-offs, including a Yellow Black Flock Art SkullFuzz and an All Black Flocked SkullFuzz limited to two units.
How much did the Art SkullFuzz Flock Edition cost?
The maker listed it at € 525.00. That is above the € 475.00 asking price of the Silver, Black, Copper and Gold editions from the same 2025 run.
