The Dunlop Authentic Hendrix '69 Psych Series Band Of Gypsys Fuzz (JHW4) is a fuzz pedal in an MXR mini housing, released as part of the Authentic Hendrix '69 Psych Series of Jimi Hendrix mini pedals. Dunlop's described aim for it was to let players "Get the unique and bitingly aggressive Band of Gypsys fuzz sound in an MXR mini housing"1. It is now discontinued: Guitar Pedal X referred to it in 2022 as part of "the now discontinued Hendrix'69 Psych Series from Dunlop / MXR"2.
Controls and features
The JHW4 keeps things simple. Its controls and features are:
- Tone: a Tone control for sonic fine-tuning1
- Status LED1
- True-bypass switching1
- 9-volt power jack1
Because it runs from a 9-volt power jack rather than a battery compartment, plan your board's power accordingly1.
