What reviewers said
Guitar Pedal X included the JHW4 in a 2022 roundup of mini fuzz pedals, listing it at $130. Reviewer Stefan Karlsson wrote that "the Band of Gypsys and Octavio sound pretty authentic too even with those SMD components," meaning the pedal holds up tonally despite using surface-mount parts rather than through-hole components.2
