The Fjord Fuzz Bjørn Classic Fuzz is a standalone fuzz pedal from the Norwegian builder Fjord Fuzz, released in September 2025. Guitar Pedal X describes it as "a 2-transistor Fuzz Face-style fuzz with Gain and Level"1. The Fuzz Face is one of the oldest fuzz circuits going, a two-transistor design known for responding to guitar volume and pickup attack, and the Bjørn is builder Daniel's fourth or fifth generation take on that format1.

The pedal arrived as part of a split: Fjord Fuzz took its Dovre Sustaining Fuzz-Verb and separated its two halves into standalone pedals, the Fjær Spring Reverb and this Bjørn1.

Controls and what they do

The Bjørn carries two controls, and Guitar Pedal X points out that this is one more than its parent pedal offered: "having Fuzz / Gain as well as dB / Level - where the Dovre just has the Master Volume"1. In practice that means you can set how much fuzz is produced and how loud the pedal sits in your chain independently, rather than the two being tied together.

ControlWhat it does
Fuzz / GainSets the amount of fuzz
dB / LevelSets the pedal's output level

The fuzz circuit inside is not new to the range. Guitar Pedal X notes that "The Bjørn Fuzz can also be found on the Midnattssol Fuzz-Vibe pedal - with the exact same Level and Gain controls"1, so players who have spent time with the Midnattssol fuzz section will know this circuit already.

Enclosure and availability

The Bjørn is part of a run of Fjord Fuzz pedals with a new differentiated facia style, "mostly been rolled out in hammered enclosure designs - while my pedals are the all-black gloss varieties" as Stefan Karlsson of Guitar Pedal X put it, with silver-foil ELZA facias1. At the time of the September 2025 announcement, the pedal listed at $199, and the UK retailer Andertons had the Dovre and Bjørn discounted to £149, which Karlsson called "bargain prices"1.

Not the same pedal as the BJØRN Dual Octave Fuzz

The name overlaps with an earlier Fjord Fuzz pedal, and they are different circuits.

Fjord Fuzz also made a pedal called the BJØRN Dual Octave Fuzz, and the two share their name rather than their circuit. The Classic Fuzz covered on this page is a single-sided Fuzz Face-style fuzz with no octave section, and it lists at $1991. Anyone who knows the earlier dual-octave BJØRN should treat the Classic Fuzz as a different, simpler pedal carrying the same first name.

Where it sits in the Fjord Fuzz range

The Bjørn Classic Fuzz lists at $1991, and at Andertons it has been discounted to £149, a price the source describes as a bargain alongside the Dovre1. Players comparing it with other pedals in the range can look at the Odin, the Thor and the SOL Fuzz-Vibe pages, and for the wider field the site's Fuzz Pedals page covers the type as a whole.
