The Fjord Fuzz Thor Wild is a fuzz pedal from the Norwegian builder, described by Guitar Pedal X as a "Self-Oscillating Lightning Storm Fuzz". Its circuit is in part derived from the Blackout Effectors Fuzz Bear, but reduced to just three controls, which the reviewer described as being for "maximum chaos".1
Controls
The Thor Wild keeps its faceplate simple, with three knobs that shape the fuzz from different angles1:
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| Stark | Volume |
| Sturm | Q1 Bias |
| Drang | Q2 Bias |
The two bias controls reach into the transistor stages of the circuit, which is where the pedal's wilder behavior comes from.1
What reviewers said
Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, reviewing the pedal among the best new fuzz pedals of 2025, summed it up this way:
"A truly wild and unruly fuzz in the best possible way - you can make it squeal, sear or percolate - there are so many weird and wonderfull sounds on board."1
That verdict points to the pedal's character: with bias controls exposed on the front panel, the Thor Wild is aimed at players who want a fuzz that misbehaves in interesting ways rather than one that stays polite.1
