The G-Lab Uproar Fuzz, also called the UF-1, is an analog fuzz stompbox from G-Lab, a Polish company also known as "Guitar Laboratory" that builds pedalboards, power supplies and pedals. G-Lab describes it as "a powerful and discrete analogue REBEL Fuzz stompbox", and the maker's own pitch for its sound is direct: "Let your guitar get in an uproar with just one click and infest everyone within the hearing range."1

The pedal belongs to G-Lab's Rebel line, reported as newly released in November 2019. The Rebel line is split into an Analog Rebel side and a Digital Rebel side, and the Uproar Fuzz sits on the analog side.1

The controls

The Uproar Fuzz keeps things simple with three knobs:

ControlWhat it does
ToneShapes the pedal's treble response
GainSets the amount of fuzz
VolumeSets the output level

The pedal also has a metal on/off footswitch and an LED overdrive indicator, housed in what the product page calls a "robust powder-coated aluminium and steel housing".1

MIDI and bypass

The Rebel line features true bypass with quiet switching and MIDI communication, and the Uproar Fuzz carries that through with an electromechanical relay for true bypass. On the back there are also MIDI IN and MIDI THRU connections for remote on/off operations. Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio notes these are "actually very limited in scope", so the MIDI connections are for switching the pedal remotely rather than deep MIDI control.1

The MIDI connections on the Uproar Fuzz are limited to remote on/off operations. If you need full MIDI control over pedal settings, this is not what they provide.1

Power

The Uproar Fuzz runs on 9V DC power.1

What reviewers said

Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio covered the pedal at its release in November 2019, and pointed to a video review from the channel EytschPi42: "EytschPi42 took a deep look at this baby in the video review below."1

Questions

Does the G-Lab Uproar Fuzz have MIDI?

Yes. The Uproar Fuzz has MIDI IN and MIDI THRU connections on the back, intended for remote on/off operations. Delicious Audio notes that these connections are very limited in scope, so MIDI here means remote switching of the pedal rather than full MIDI control over its settings. MIDI communication is a feature of G-Lab's Rebel line as a whole, which pairs true bypass with quiet switching.

Is the G-Lab Uproar Fuzz true bypass?

Yes. The Uproar Fuzz uses electromechanical relay true bypass, and the Rebel line as a whole is described as featuring true bypass with quiet switching and MIDI communication. Relay bypass uses a physical switch inside the pedal to route your guitar signal straight through when the effect is off.

What power does the G-Lab Uproar Fuzz need?

The Uproar Fuzz runs on 9V DC power. The published product page lists the power requirement as 9 V DC; no current draw figure or battery option is given there, so plan your pedalboard power supply around the 9V DC requirement.

Which G-Lab line does the Uproar Fuzz belong to?

The Uproar Fuzz, also called the UF-1, belongs to G-Lab's Rebel line of effects. The Rebel line is divided into an analog side and a digital side, and the Uproar Fuzz sits on the analog side. The line was reported as newly released in November 2019.

Is the Uproar Fuzz analog?

Yes. The Uproar Fuzz is described as an analog fuzz stompbox and belongs to the analog side of G-Lab's Rebel line, which is otherwise split between analog and digital effects.
