The Glou-Glou Flancher FL7 is a stereo analog modulation pedal from the French builder Glou-Glou, released on 10 June 2024 as part of a four-pedal Flancher launch. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson describes its range of sounds as "Chorus, Flanger, Vibrato, and sort of Ring Modulation", which places it across several familiar modulation territories in one box1. If you want the wider picture of the effect type, see Flanger Pedals, Chorus Pedals and Vibrato Pedals.
How it works
The FL7 is an all-analog design built around two Xvive MN3007 bucket-brigade devices (BBDs, chips that pass an audio signal stage by stage to create a short delay), each with 1024 stages, giving a delay time range of 1.5ms to 34ms1. That millisecond range is what a flanger uses to sweep its comb-filtered character, and it is short enough that the same core can also produce chorus and vibrato textures depending on how the controls are set1.
Controls and patching
The pedal's controls go beyond the usual flanger set. Karlsson describes the first control, Dry±, as setting "whether the Dry and Wet Signals are In or Out of Phase", which changes how the effect blends with your clean signal1.
The FL7 also carries eleven control voltage ports, letting you patch external CV sources into individual parameters1:
That level of patchability is unusual on a flanger and is the pedal's defining feature: each parameter of the stereo effect can be driven separately rather than adjusted only by hand1.
The Flancher family
The FL7 is one of two modulation models in the Flancher range, alongside the Glou-Glou Flancher FL9, and Glou-Glou lists both modulations (FL7/9) at $620 a piece1. Like the FL9, it is an analog design built around BBD chips, in the FL7's case a pair of Xvive MN3007 1024-stage devices covering a 1.5ms to 34ms delay time range1.
The FL7 is an all-analog modulation pedal built on 2 x Xvive MN3007 1024 Stage BBD chips, with a delay time range of 1.5ms > 34ms2.
