The GUPtech TWRL is a phaser pedal in the univibe style, a pedal that GUPtech describes as bringing "Wobble all around your tone". It is built on what the maker calls a 4-Stage OTA Phaser circuit, the same general approach used by classic univibe-style designs, and it is hand-built by the company in Saguenay, Québec, Canada1. If you are after that swirling, rotating-speaker flavor of modulation, it sits in the same family as the pedals covered on our Phaser Pedals page.
Controls
The TWRL gives you four knobs, and GUPtech's pitch is that you can "Control every aspect of your tone with Depth, Sweep, Rate and Resonance knobs"1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Depth | Controls the depth of the effect1 |
| Sweep | Shapes the sweep of the phaser1 |
| Rate | Sets the speed of the wobble1 |
| Resonance | Sets the resonance of the phase shift1 |
Power and switching
The TWRL runs on a 9Vdc center-negative supply and draws 12mA, figures that put it within reach of any standard pedalboard power supply1.
On 28 April 2021, GUPtech announced that the PPRSS (Prof Pinote relay Switching System), a relay-based switching option, was offered on the TWRL as an option1.
Versions and availability
GUPtech offered the TWRL in a range of color options: Yellow, Purple, Green, Pink, Red, White and Silver1. As of 26 October 2026, the pedal was listed as sold out on the maker's product page1.
The maker's page also notes a player connection: "my Pumpky is played through it", attributed to Steve W1.
Price
GUPtech's product page listed the TWRL at a sale price of £71.00 GBP1. That is the price as stated by the maker in British pounds; no US dollar figure is given.

Questions
What power supply does the GUPtech TWRL need?
The TWRL runs on a 9Vdc center-negative power supply, the same standard used by most modern pedals. GUPtech lists this on the product page, so a regular 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug is what the pedal expects. As with any pedal, match the voltage and polarity exactly as the maker specifies.
How much current does the TWRL draw?
GUPtech lists the TWRL's power consumption at 12mA. That is a modest draw, so it sits comfortably on a pedalboard power supply with plenty of headroom left for other pedals on the same outputs.
What is PPRSS relay switching?
PPRSS stands for Prof Pinote relay Switching System. GUPtech announced on 28 April 2021 that it was offered as an option on the TWRL. It is a relay-based switching system, an alternative to the standard footswitch arrangement.
Where is the GUPtech TWRL made?
GUPtech builds the TWRL in Saguenay, Québec, Canada. The maker states that all of its pedals are made by the company there.
Is the GUPtech TWRL still available?
As of 26 October 2026, the TWRL's product page on guptech.ca listed the pedal as sold out. Availability can change, so the maker's own page is the place to see current status.
