The JAM Pedals Tubedreamer Screamer MK2 is a Tube Screamer style overdrive, released in May 2026 as the latest spin on the company's TS808-based take. The MK2 makes two changes to the format: the High Gain option moves from a toggle-switch to a second footswitch, and a new No-Diode clipping mode joins the usual asymmetrical setting. It is available now for order or pre-order on the JAM Pedals webstore1.

Controls and footswitches

The MK2 carries four knobs and two footswitches1:

ControlWhat it does
LevelOutput level
GainDrive amount
ToneTone shaping
ClippingSelects Asymmetrical or No-Diode clipping
High Gain footswitchEngages the high gain mode
Engage/Bypass footswitchTurns the pedal on and off

The Clipping control is the most distinctive part of the layout. Alongside the asymmetrical setting, the MK2 adds what Guitar Pedal X calls a potent No-Diode clipping mode, described as a little louder and punchier1. That gives a player two clipping characters in one box, selectable by knob rather than by opening the pedal up.

The second footswitch is the other headline change. On the earlier Tubedreamer Screamer, High Gain sat on a toggle-switch; on the MK2 it has its own footswitch, so it can be kicked in and out mid-song alongside the Engage/Bypass switch1.

Versions and price

Two editions were offered at launch1:

EditionAvailabilityUK price (incl. 20% VAT)
Standard "bulb" editionAvailable through the JAM Pedals webstore£2191
"Glowing Sunset" Custom Shop editionLimited availability£2941

The Glowing Sunset edition is a limited Custom Shop run with a western vista finish. Guitar Pedal X noted it will unlikely be around for long1.

How it compares

The MK2 sits in a wider Tubedreamer family. JAM Pedals' original TubeDreamer and its various editions, along with the dual-circuit Double Dreamer, cover related ground, and the MK2's second footswitch is what sets it apart from the toggle-switch arrangement of the earlier Screamer version1. For context on the circuit family it draws from, see Boss SD-1 vs Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer and the broader Overdrive Pedals page.

Questions

What is No-Diode clipping on the Tubedreamer Screamer MK2?

No-Diode is a new clipping mode on the MK2, selected with the Clipping control alongside the Asymmetrical option. Guitar Pedal X describes it as a potent mode that is a little louder and punchier than the diode-based setting, giving the player two distinct clipping characters from one pedal.

What changed between the Tubedreamer Screamer and the MK2?

The MK2 moves the High Gain option from a toggle-switch to a second footswitch, so it can be engaged while playing, and adds a new No-Diode clipping mode. Guitar Pedal X called it an undeniably cool and handy evolution of the format, with a little more action and horsepower.

How much does the Tubedreamer Screamer MK2 cost?

As of May 2026, Guitar Pedal X reported UK prices of £219 for the Standard variant and £294 for the Glowing Sunset variant, both including 20% UK VAT. A US dollar list price was not given in that report.

What is the Glowing Sunset edition?

The Glowing Sunset edition is a Custom Shop version of the MK2 with a western vista finish, sold alongside the Standard bulb edition through the JAM Pedals webstore. Guitar Pedal X noted it has limited availability and is unlikely to be around for long.

Where is the High Gain switch on the MK2?

There is no High Gain toggle-switch on the MK2. JAM moved that option to a second footswitch, so the pedal carries two footswitches: one for High Gain and one for Engage/Bypass.
