The JAM Pedals "Achenbach" Double Dreamer is a fully handmade dual overdrive that combines the company's Tubedreamer and Lucydreamer circuits in a single enclosure, with clean-blend clarity and up to six footswitchable gain stages1. It belongs to the same family as the Double Dreamer and its other limited artwork editions, such as the ["Pickle Freak"]( /pedal/jam-pedals-pickle-freak-double-dreamer) and ["Relic"]( /pedal/jam-pedals-relic-double-dreamer) versions2.

The Achenbach Double Dreamer was listed as sold out on JAM Pedals' site as of 25 October 20262. Limited artwork versions are one-of-a-kind hand-painted pieces, and the pedal you receive will differ in detail from the photos shown1.

Controls and footswitches

Each circuit keeps the control set of its standalone counterpart. The Lucydreamer side has Level, Tone, Gain and a clean/drive Mix control, while the Tubedreamer side has Level, Tone and Gain1.

Three footswitches sit across the bottom: Lucydreamer, HIGH GAIN and Tubedreamer1. The middle HIGH GAIN switch adds a gain stage on demand, and a three-way toggle routes it to the Tubedreamer, the Lucydreamer or both1. With each circuit's own footswitch plus the shared high gain stage, the pedal offers up to six footswitchable gain stages1.

Signal flow and Y mode

In default mode the signal runs input, then Lucydreamer, then Tubedreamer, then output, so the lower-gain Lucydreamer stage feeds the Tubedreamer1.

Independent Y mode changes that arrangement: it converts the IN and OUT jacks into breakout points for the two circuits, allowing switcher control, separate signal-chain placement or parallel stereo use. Two TRS-to-dual-TS insert cables are required to wire it up1.

Power and practical notes

The Double Dreamer runs on 9V DC, center negative, and draws 110 mA1. That draw is well above what a low-current output on a daisy-chain supply typically provides, so a dedicated supply output is the practical choice.

JAM Pedals ships the pedal DDP, with 20% UK VAT and all duties included and no extra charges on delivery1. For players comparing it with the company's single-circuit pedals, the TubeDreamer and Lucydreamer pages cover each circuit on its own, and JAM has since evolved the Tubedreamer platform into the Tubedreamer Screamer MK2. More dual-overdrive options sit on the overdrive pedals page.
