The JHS Pedals AT+ is Andy Timmons' signature overdrive pedal, made by JHS Pedals. JHS describes it as the pedal that gives Timmons his lead and rhythm tone, and it grew out of a collaboration between the guitarist and JHS founder Josh Scott that began in 201812. Timmons has said the pedal is indispensable on his pedalboard2.
What it does
The AT+ is a drive pedal covering overdrive and distortion territory, with an added gain stage boost that is independent of the main drive side. JHS frames that boost as a way to push the pedal the way Timmons does with his own rig4. In practice that means a player can set the drive for rhythm tones and kick in the boost for leads without a separate pedal on the board.
JHS' own demo video introduces the pedal in Timmons' own terms:
"The JHS Pedals AT is Andy Timmons signature overdrive pedal that gives Andy his unmistakable lead and rhythm tone."
The AT Mini variant
In 2026 JHS released the AT Mini, a compact version of the AT+ built for players who want Timmons' drive tones in a smaller enclosure. Delicious Audio described it as a "(more than) compact, but not quite mini, version of the company's renowned overdrive AT+ pedal"3. It carries the original AT V1 circuitry but drops the wattage toggle and the independent boost stage found on the AT+3.
The AT Mini is not a straight replacement for the AT+: it leaves out the independent boost, so players who rely on that second gain stage need the full-size pedal34.
