The JOMOX Moonwind MkII is a standalone analog filter tracker, described by Robin Vincent at gearnews.com as "the Moonwind MkII analogue filter tracker standalone box of highly controllable filtering and effects"1. Rather than sitting on a pedalboard like a conventional filter pedal, it is a desktop unit built around analog filters that can be played and manipulated in real time.
What it does
The MkII centers on analog filters that can be controlled externally and performed directly. It has CV inputs for controlling those analog filters, which lets it follow or respond to control voltage from other gear, and an XY touchpad for performance control over the resonance and cutoff, so both filter parameters can be swept at once from one pad1.
Alongside the filtering, the unit carries a digital effects chip with 15 algorithms to muse over, adding effects on top of the analog filter section1.
History and availability
JOMOX showed the Moonwind MkII at Superbooth 2021, where a short demo highlighted the CV inputs and the XY touchpad1. The unit then took some time to reach the market: gearnews.com reported on 21 February 2024 that "The Moonwind MKII is now shipping and available for £739"1. The same report listed the price as $752.00 / £685.00 / 799.00€, so the sterling figures differ between the shipping announcement and the price listing1.
