The Klowra Rilum is a fully stereo, three-playback-head tape-style delay line that also delivers chorus, flanger and vibrato, made by Klowra1. Pedal of the Day describes it as a multi-head delay and modulation pedal that produces authentic vintage multi-head delay textures, tape-like flanging and chorus tones, warm atmospheric trails and self-oscillation through feedback2. Stefan Karlsson, reviewing it for Guitar Pedal X in February 2026, called it "another killer pedal from Klowra - it might even be my favourite to date!"1.
What it does to your sound
The Rilum's three playback heads put it, in head count, kind of adjacent to an Echoplex, though Karlsson stresses the design is entirely original, as conceived by Klowra's engineers1. Shorter delay settings on the LAG TIME control reach flanger, chorus and vibrato territory, while longer timings produce delay sounds, so one pedal spans both delay and modulation roles1.
Pedal of the Day's reviewer summed up the overall character this way:
"one that combines vintage echo delays with tasteful modulation, for a sound that's extremely useable and unique"
The pedal also offers multiple stereo modes: its stereo outputs give you either Dry/Wet Separation or True Stereo Outputs, and Pedal of the Day notes it "provides pure signal integrity and versatile performance support for any stage or studio"2. An Analog Dry-Through feature keeps the dry signal path analog2.
Controls and operation
| Control / feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| LAG TIME | Adjusts the Delay Line Range: shorter delays for Flanger, Chorus and Vibrato, longer timings for delay sounds; secondary function Spawn randomises Heads Volume, more accentuated clockwise1 |
| Tap Tempo / Twisted Tempo | Delay time synchronization; LAG TIME counter-clockwise selects Tap Tempo, clockwise selects Twisted Tempo12 |
| Bypass and Trail Modes | True Bypass or Buffered Bypass (Trails On), set via power-up option1 |
| Ramp Lock | Momentary or Latched, via power-up option1 |
| LED Brightness | Dimmer or Brighten, via power-up option1 |
A white LED shows the Tap Tempo / Twisted Tempo function is active, and a blue LED shows it has been actively triggered1. Pedal of the Day describes tap tempo and the "unique Twisted Tempo control" as keeping your delay time "tightly synchronized with your musical rhythm"2.
Bypass, stereo and power
Bypass is selectable between True Bypass and Buffered Bypass with trails on, chosen through a power-up option1. The pedal is fully stereo, with 1/4" TS left and right inputs and outputs1. For real-time control, it accepts a 1/4" TRS expression and control connection; Pedal of the Day notes you can use an external TS/TRS footswitch and expression pedal for multifunctional continuous control12.
The Rilum draws 250mA at 9V DC center negative1. That is more than many compact pedals need, so it is worth checking your supply's output ratings before adding it to a daisy chain.
How it compares
Guitar Pedal X places the Rilum alongside the Hungry Robot Moby Dick multi-head stereo tape-style delay: the Rilum is "also a multihued tape style delay with some of the similar controls, while the FM Texture of the Moby Dick is fairly unique"3. Karlsson's one criticism among the presets concerned the flanger: the Classic Flanger preset is a "gorgeous sounding flanger - a little mild because of the lack of a resonance control - but really great"1.
Price and availability
As of February 2026, the Rilum was listed at $129 USD, or £95 GBP, which Karlsson called "exceptionally well priced"1. It is sold from the Klowra webstore, select international dealers, and Amazon.com1.

Questions
Is the Klowra Rilum true stereo?
Yes. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson describes the Rilum as a fully stereo, three-playback-head tape-style delay line, and Pedal of the Day notes that its multiple stereo outputs give you either Dry/Wet Separation or True Stereo Outputs. It has 1/4" TS left and right inputs and left and right outputs, so it can sit at the end of a stereo rig or split dry and wet signals across two amps or channels.
Does the Klowra Rilum have true bypass?
It has both. Bypass is selectable between True Bypass and Buffered Bypass with trails on, set through a power-up option. That means you can choose hard switching when you want the dry signal untouched, or buffered trails that let delay repeats ring out naturally after you switch the pedal off.
What power supply does the Klowra Rilum need?
The Rilum runs on 9V DC, center negative, and draws 250mA. That current draw is higher than many compact pedals, so a standard low-current output or a shared daisy chain may not be enough; a dedicated supply output rated for at least 250mA is the safe choice.
What is Twisted Tempo on the Klowra Rilum?
Twisted Tempo is one of the Rilum's delay time synchronization controls, alongside standard tap tempo. Pedal of the Day describes tap tempo and the unique Twisted Tempo control as keeping your delay time tightly synchronized with your musical rhythm. The LAG TIME knob selects between them: counter-clockwise for tap tempo, clockwise for Twisted Tempo.
Does the Klowra Rilum have an expression pedal input?
Yes. The Rilum accepts a 1/4" TRS expression and control connection, and Pedal of the Day notes you can use an external TS/TRS footswitch and expression pedal for multifunctional continuous control, so parameters can be moved in real time while you play.
How much does the Klowra Rilum cost?
As of February 2026, Guitar Pedal X listed the Rilum at $129 USD, or £95 GBP in the United Kingdom. Stefan Karlsson called it exceptionally well priced at that figure. It is sold from the Klowra webstore, select international dealers and Amazon.com.
