Koogo Digital Reverb

The Koogo Digital Reverb is a reverb pedal from Koogo. Reverb is the effect that adds a sense of space around your notes, and this pedal is designed, in the maker's words, "to add dimension and spaciousness to your tone"¹.

What it does

Reverb recreates the reflections of sound in a physical space, so a dry, direct guitar signal can sound like it is being played in anything from a small room to a large hall. The Koogo Digital Reverb covers this job in a compact stompbox format.

Its modes include:

• Room: simulates the spaciousness of a room²

Room reverb is the most subtle of the common reverb types, and it is often the starting point for players who want their tone to sound natural rather than obviously effected.

How it compares to other small digital reverbs

The Koogo Digital Reverb sits in the same mini-pedal territory as other compact digital reverbs. The Mooer ShimVerb Digital Reverb, another micro-format reverb, drew a positive verdict from MusicPlayers.com, whose reviewer found its reverb effects capable of providing almost every type of coloration you can think of, ranging from subtle to cavernous to down-right alien-like sound³:

Derek Davodowich of MusicPlayers.com reported that the Reverb effects were "capable of providing almost every type of coloration you can think of ranging from subtle to cavernous to down-right alien-like sound"³

Older still, the Boss RV-2 Digital Reverb was an early rack-style digital reverb in pedal form from Boss⁴. Together these pedals show the range available to a player shopping for a small reverb: from a single Room mode to multi-mode units with shimmer and cavernous settings.
