The Lone Wolf Audio Bulldozer Fuzz is a fuzz effects pedal, one of the company's fuzz designs alongside the Outer Heaven Fuzz and the Iron Fist. It was featured on Pedal of the Day on Sunday, May 29, 20161.
It is a deliberately simple pedal. Pedal of the Day's review describes a heavy-tuned fuzz with two internal transistors that are set full blast, and with some definite Russian Muff fuzziness looming large, calling it "a plug-and-play device"2.
"this is a loud, boisterous fuzz that should not be used near anyone with a pacemaker, probably"
Controls
The Bulldozer keeps its control layout to a single knob:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lone control knob | Makes the fuzz louder and more intense, so you set it where you want it and you're done2 |
That single-knob approach is the whole design. There is no tone control, no bias adjustment and no voicing switch: the character comes from the circuit itself, and the knob only sets how loud and intense the fuzz is2.
How it sounds
The circuit is based on the Russian Muff, the Russian-made version of the Big Muff fuzz, and the review hears that lineage clearly in the pedal's sound2. Pedal of the Day summed it up as "a simple, basic rock star of a pedal that does just one thing, and does it extremely well"2.
For a player, that means the Bulldozer is a set-and-forget wall of fuzz rather than a flexible gain-shaping tool. If you want to shape mids and treble on the pedal itself, you would look elsewhere; if you want a big, loud fuzz voice at the turn of one knob, this is built for that2.
