The Maneco Labs Grone Drone Synth is a drone synth pedal, described by its maker as "the ultimate drone synth"1. It is built around a drone voice oscillator, an engine that holds a continuous tone rather than tracking what you play, so it sits under your guitar as a sustained synth voice. Maneco Labs sells it in more than one format: the standard pedal, a Classic Version that works as both a Eurorack module and a pedal, and a smaller Mini Grone module123.

What a drone voice oscillator does
Grone alongside other drone and synth pedals
The Grone belongs to the wider field of synth pedals that generate voices rather than only process the guitar's signal. Maneco Labs describes it as "the ultimate drone synth," and at its center is a drone voice oscillator12. That places it among synth pedals built around sustained, generated tones rather than effects that only shape the incoming guitar signal.

Questions
How much is the Maneco Labs Grone Drone Synth?
Maneco Labs lists the Grone Drone Synth at $465.00 USD on its product page as of October 2026. The Classic Version is listed at $395.00 USD, and the Mini Grone Drone Synth module is listed at $295.00 USD. A Grone Drone Synth Voice for Moog Modular (5u) is listed at $677.00 USD.
What is the difference between the Grone Drone Synth and the Mini Grone?
The Grone Drone Synth is a drone synth pedal, while the Mini Grone is a Eurorack module version of the same idea. Both include a drone voice oscillator, and the Mini Grone adds a noise generator. The Classic Version sits between them as a pedal-format unit that also includes a Clouds module.
Is there a Eurorack version of the Grone Drone Synth?
Yes. The Mini Grone Drone Synth is sold by Maneco Labs as a Eurorack module, and the Grone Drone Synth Classic Version is described by the maker as both a Eurorack module and a drone synth pedal. There is also a Grone Drone Synth Voice for Moog Modular (5u) format.
What does a drone voice oscillator do?
A drone voice oscillator produces a continuous, held tone rather than a played note. In a drone design like the Grone, the oscillators can interact: drolofx's reference describes a drone setup of 2 individual oscillator drones where one can FM modulate the other, meaning one oscillator's output changes the pitch of the other for moving, evolving drone textures.
