The Mosky Dyna Compressor is a compressor pedal made by Mosky. It belongs to the family of two-knob compressors built around the Dyna Comp design, the circuit MXR introduced and that Dunlop still builds today in versions such as the Dunlop CSP102SL Script Dyna Comp Compressor and the Dunlop M228 Dyna Comp Deluxe Compressor123.
A compressor in this style evens out the difference between your loudest and quietest notes, which changes how a guitar sits in a mix. Dunlop, describing what the original MXR Dyna Comp does, says it "can tighten up your signal, add rich sustain, or create the percussive and clicky sound heard on numerous hit records"4. That last quality, the clicky, percussive attack, is the effect many players associate with the Dyna Comp circuit in particular.
What it does
The Dyna Comp design is built around two controls, and Dunlop's own history of the pedal notes that the original carried two knobs, "labeled Output and Sensitivity, to govern the volume and compression levels, respectively"5.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sensitivity | Sets the amount of compression. Clockwise gives more compression, counterclockwise gives less2 |
| Output | Sets the volume of the compressed signal16 |
That two-knob layout is the core of the design. Sensitivity is where the character of the effect lives: more of it brings up quiet notes and stretches sustain, while the Output knob lets you match the pedal's level to your bypassed signal. Later versions of the MXR original added more, such as the Clean and Tone controls on the Deluxe model, but the basic Dyna Comp recipe stays at two knobs3.
Mosky also makes other compressors, including the Mosky Dynamic Compressor, the Mosky Roller Compressor, and the Mosky MINI C4 COMPRESSOR, alongside the Mosky SUPER OPTO and the multi-effect Mosky Tone Bus.

Questions
What does the Mosky Dyna Compressor do?
It is a compressor pedal, a pedal in the Dyna Comp style. A compressor of this kind evens out the volume between your loud and quiet notes. Dunlop, which makes the original MXR Dyna Comp, describes that effect as tightening up your signal, adding rich sustain, or creating a percussive and clicky sound.
What controls does a Dyna Comp style compressor have?
The classic Dyna Comp layout uses two knobs: Output and Sensitivity. Dunlop's documentation says these govern the volume and compression levels respectively. Turning Sensitivity clockwise increases the compression, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it.
