The Mosky Tone Bus is a multi-effects pedal from Mosky that combines two overdrive channels in one unit, sold with a power supply. Mosky lists it among its multi-effects range, and the controls the maker documents are for its two overdrive sections, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 21.
What it does
Each overdrive channel has its own Tone knob, and they work slightly differently. On Overdrive 1, the Tone knob adjusts frequency, acting as an EQ control over the sound. On Overdrive 2, the Tone knob adjusts the amount of treble in the sound1.
Overdrive 1 also has a Voice switch with two modes:
| Control | Position | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Voice | High-Peak (HP) | Increased distortion and low-end, thickening the sound for what Mosky calls a more "British" flavor |
| Voice | Low-Peak (LP) | A more accurate rendition of your sound with very little coloration of your tone |
In the maker's words, the Low-Peak mode "gives you a more accurate rendition of your sound with very little coloration of your tone"1, which makes it the cleaner-voiced option of the two, while High-Peak pushes toward a thicker, more distorted sound.
If you are comparing overdrive options, the Tone Bus sits alongside Mosky's single-purpose overdrive pedals and the maker's compressor pedals such as the Mosky Dyna Compressor and Mosky SUPER OPTO, which shape dynamics rather than gain.
