The Mr. Black Black LTD. Ambience is a limited-edition pedal that puts an echo and a reverb in one box. Mr. Black describes it as an "Independently modulated multi-tap echo with reverb," designed by Jack Deville as an original design and built as a run of just 50 pieces1. It is a sibling of the standard Mr. Black Ambience, which the maker describes as "The delicate wash of two syncopated, independently modulated echos drifting into a beautiful reverb"2.
What it does
The Ambience concept stacks two delay lines and a reverb behind one set of controls. The two echoes are syncopated, meaning they tap at different points rather than repeating identically, and each is modulated on its own, so the repeats drift and move rather than sitting still. Those echoes then feed a reverb, giving the wash of space the pedal is named for2.

Background and status
Delicious Audio reported the launch of the Ambience Echoverb in October 2015, noting that the pedal's features included "Rock solid housing, true bypass, solid/noiseless switching, and battery or adapter power"3. The Black LTD. version carried a list price of $179.95 and was marked sold out on 01.08.20151.
Both versions of the Ambience are out of production. The Black LTD. Ambience sold out on 01.08.20151, and the standard Ambience is marked "PRODUCTION DISCONTINUED" on Mr. Black's site2.
Mr. Black has since built several other reverbs along different lines, including the SuperMoon, the Super Swell spring reverb, and the Mini Reverb Universal Reverberator. For the wider field, see the Reverb Pedals and Delay Pedals pages.
