The Mr. Black Black LTD. Necropolis is a limited edition reverb pedal, described by the maker as "an ethereal reverberator unlike anything before it"1. It is a Jack Deville original design, sold under the Black LTD. banner alongside pedals like the Black LTD. Plates and Black LTD. Ambience1.
What sets it apart from a conventional reverb pedal is how the tails behave. According to Mr. Black, the reverb tails appear to slow down as they stretch and bend within the time domain, burrowing into a deep and luscious sonic pad that continues to descend further while creating space above for fresh, incoming sounds1.
In practice, that means the decay does not simply fade: it drifts downward and opens room for what you play next, which suits ambient playing and washes of sound1.
Controls
The Necropolis keeps things simple with two controls. Mr. Black says these "familiar controls easily deliver a wide variety of airy and light, to deep and vast reverb"1. The product page does not name the individual knobs; the pedal's manual, linked as a PDF from the product page, covers the details1.
Price and availability
Mr. Black lists the Necropolis at a regular price of $219.95, with a sale price of $199.95 shown on the product page as of 26 October 20261.
The Necropolis is a limited edition, and Mr. Black states: "ALL LIMITED EDITION SALES FINAL! NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES/REFUNDS."1 A purchase cannot be returned or exchanged, so the usual return window does not apply.
