The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Pink Pardner Dynamic Fuzz Edition is a Valentine's Day edition of the Pardner, a fuzz pedal with a versatile effects loop. It follows the original three-colourway launch of the Pardner, with the artwork updated so the protagonist holds flowers rather than a gun. Pricing is the same as before at $229, and as of the stated release the price was £229 in the UK.1
What it is and how it is arranged
The Pardner is a two-sided pedal. One side is the fuzz, with Bass, Treble, Fuzz Volume and Filter controls, where the Filter covers low-end and main input gain. The other side is the Lasso, a variable overdrive section, and the pedal's Send/Return loop lets you add any external effect. Each side has its own soft-touch bypass footswitch, and when both sides are off the pedal goes to true relay bypass.1
| Section | Controls or features |
|---|---|
| Fuzz | Bass, Treble, Fuzz Volume, Filter (low-end and main input gain) |
| Lasso | Variable overdrive, plus Send/Return loop for any external effect |
| Switching | Individual soft-touch bypass footswitches for each side; true relay bypass when both sides are off |
The Lasso side makes the pedal more than a fuzz: because the overdrive amount is variable and the loop accepts an external pedal, the two sides can be combined or kept separate, and the loop gives a place to insert another effect into the chain.1
Power, jacks and build
The Pink Pardner is powered by a regular 9V DC power supply with a center negative 2.1 mm connector and draws approximately 80 mA. A power supply is not included. The jacks are top-mounted, which the maker describes as fitting into any setup, and the pedal is built in a durable compact enclosure intended for years of reliable switching. It is made in the USA.1
No power supply is included in the box, so plan for a 9V DC center negative 2.1 mm output rated for at least the pedal's roughly 80 mA draw.1
How it differs from the original Pardner
Circuit-wise, the Pink Pardner is the same pedal as the original Pardner: the price is unchanged at $229, and the release follows the original three-colourway launch. What sets this edition apart is the look: a pink enclosure with revised artwork showing the protagonist holding flowers rather than a gun, timed for Valentine's Day.1
