The Chipotle / Jalapeño 2-In-1 Dual Overdrive is a custom guitar effects pedal from Pepper Pedals in Atlanta, Georgia. It packs two of the company's drive circuits into one enclosure: the Chipotle Distortion and the Jalapeño Overdrive, the latter also available on its own as the Pepper Pedals Jalapeño Overdrive. Pedal of the Day featured the unit on September 30, 2014, with a full review following on November 2, 2014.12
What it does
As the name suggests, this is two pedals in one box. Pedal of the Day's Mike B described it as "a combo of their awesome Chipotle Distortion and Jalapeño Overdrive", giving a player a distortion and an overdrive side by side in a single enclosure rather than as two separate units.2
Both sides can be used together or separately, and there is an order toggle that lets you choose which side sits first in the signal path. That matters for tone: running a distortion into an overdrive behaves differently from the reverse arrangement, and the toggle lets you set up either chain without repatching cables.2
This is a custom, one-of-a-kind pedal rather than a regular production model. Mike B noted that "One-of-a-kind pedals have a special quality about them that regular pedals just don't". Players after the individual circuits would look at Pepper Pedals' standalone releases instead.2
What reviewers said
The pedal's only published review on record is Pedal of the Day's November 2014 write-up, and it was enthusiastic:
"Great as individual pedals, killer as a team, the Chipotle and Jalapeño Dual Overdrive is another sonic work of art"
That verdict covers both halves: the reviewer found the two circuits strong on their own and stronger combined, which is the whole point of a dual enclosure like this one2.
