The Red Witch Lily Boost is an analog boost guitar pedal from New Zealand maker Red Witch Pedals, part of the Seven Sisters line the company debuted at NAMM in 201112. Red Witch describes it as "the pure sister", "offering a gorgeous clean boost", and says it "can deliver the gentlest of volume lifts or unleash a colossal, amplifier melting wave of gain", with 30 dB of gain on tap1.

What it does

The Lily Boost has a single Gain control, which the maker describes plainly: "Gain controls....... the Gain!"1. That one-knob layout makes it a straightforward volume lift in front of an amp or another pedal, and it sits alongside other boost-style pedals covered on the site's Boost Pedals page.

Premier Guitar's reviewer found the pedal transparent, writing that "you'll appreciate the work done on Red Witch's part to retain a guitar's natural voice. It's not stifled in the least"3. The same review notes the pedal can do more than a straight volume lift: the reviewer describes a pre gain function that "pushes the signal into overdrive territory for natural breakup", working like a fuzz at high amp gain, and turning the pedal into a pre-gain stage in an effects loop3.

"Lily kicked the little amp into a sweet and robust overdrive zone with a cranked pre and post set around 1 o'clock."
Premier Guitar3

That was with a 10-watt CEC Express on a low-gain channel, with pre and post controls around 1 o'clock3.

The Seven Sisters line

The Lily Boost is one of the Seven Sisters pedals Red Witch debuted at NAMM 2011, where MusicRadar described it as "The pure sister - offering a gorgeous clean boost"2. In a later Premier Guitar review of the line's Ruby Fuzz, the reviewer suggested that "You just may need the help of a boost pedal (check out Sister Lily)", pointing to the Lily as the line's boost companion4.

Red Witch lists the Seven Sisters Lily Boost as Sold Out on its product page1.

Questions

Is the Red Witch Lily Boost still available?

No. Red Witch Pedals lists the Seven Sisters Lily Boost as sold out on its product page. As a discontinued or unavailable pedal, it would have to be found secondhand if a player wants one.

How much gain does the Lily Boost have?

Red Witch specifies 30 dB of gain. The maker describes it as a clean boost that can deliver a gentle volume lift or a large wave of gain, and Premier Guitar's reviewer found it could push a low-gain amp channel into overdrive.
