The Plurious 2048 is an analog chorus and vibrato pedal from Red Witch, built around BBD (bucket brigade device) chips, the same delay-line approach used in classic chorus designs. It offers two effect modes, Chorus and Vibe, and an Era control that switches between a 1970s CE-1 style voice and a Modern-Crisp setting1. It was unveiled in April 2025 as part of Red Witch's Floral Apothecary series of compact pedals1.
What it does
The pedal covers both chorus and vibrato territory. The Chorus mode gives the familiar doubled, widened sound, while the Vibe mode pushes the modulation further toward vibrato. The Era switch is the pedal's distinguishing control: one position aims at the character of the 1970s Boss CE-1, the other at a crisper, more modern voice1.
Controls
The Voice knob works as a character control, adjusting the delay time and the overall voice of the effect rather than acting as a simple depth or rate control1.
What reviewers said
Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, writing at the pedal's unveiling, described it as "A beautifully textured analog BBD chorus - with plenty of character and versatility across vintage and modern modes." He added that it was "Much evolved beyond typical 2-knob choruses overall sound"1.
