The Reeves Electro Facet IZ is a fuzz pedal from Reeves Electro's DaughterBoard series, a take on the silicon Fuzz Face circuit with an added Tone control. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson called it a "Great sounding Silicon Fuzz Face with added Tone control"1. It is priced at £259 and is built around a pair of rare NOS Micro Electronics C1016Y yellow dot transistors1.
What it does
The Facet IZ follows the silicon Fuzz Face formula: a two-transistor fuzz design, in this case powered by a pair of rare NOS Micro Electronics C1016Y yellow dot transistors, with a Tone control added on top of the usual fuzz voicing1. It is a follow-up to The Darlington Flyer in the DaughterBoard series1.
Limited release
The Facet IZ is listed at £2591. Like other Reeves Electro DaughterBoard releases, it is built around a fixed complement of rare NOS transistors, in this case a pair of Micro Electronics C1016Y yellow dot types1.
With only 25 units made, the Facet IZ is a limited release rather than a continuously available pedal. A related model, the Reeves Electro Facet FF, has appeared in the series alongside it.
Where it has been seen
That Pedal Show listed the Reeves Electro Daughterboard Facet Fuzz FF among the pedals used in one of its episodes, putting the Facet line in front of the show's fuzz audience2.
