The Native Lung Reverb is a reverb pedal from Stack FX. Pedal of the Day reviewed it and called it "one of the coolest pedals we'd checked out in a minute"12.
Controls
The pedal has four knobs, each covering a different part of the effect:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Volume | Turned all the way down, the volume sits at unity. Cranking it up accesses up to 7dB of clean, discrete gain, so you can volume-match what is lost going through the reverb tank1 |
| Balance | Mixes the Wet and Dry signals1 |
| Color | A robust analog tone section, going from dark and moody to bright and light with a turn of the knob1 |
| Decay | Sets the decay time. Set past around noon, modulation is automatically added into the effect without compromising or losing much decay time1 |
The Volume knob is the feature Pedal of the Day highlighted as setting the pedal apart from other reverbs: rather than only trimming output, it gives the player clean gain on tap to make up for the level drop a reverb tank can introduce1.
What reviewers said
Pedal of the Day's 2016 review was favorable on the sound itself:
"the sounds pouring out are luch, warm and inviting as they can possibly be"
The same review described the modulation that appears as the Decay knob is turned up as "glorious"1. When the site later reviewed another Stacks FX pedal, the Fuzz Gazer, it pointed back to the Native Lung Reverb as a highlight of the maker's lineup2.
