The Stomp Under Foot Pink Hellephant is a fuzz pedal whose fuzz side gives off classic silicon fuzz sounds from its Level and Fuzz controls.1
What it does
The overdrive side is a low to medium gain circuit. Pedal of the Day described it as "boasting vintage sounds and amp-pushing capabilities as well," the kind of overdrive meant to push an already working amp rather than reshape it.1
The fuzz side is Fuzz Face inspired, giving what the review called "classic silicon fuzz sounds from its Level and Fuzz controls." Players familiar with the Fuzz Pedals family will recognize the territory: the Fuzz Face is the classic two-knob silicon fuzz design, and this side follows it.1
The controls
Each side carries a short, familiar set of knobs.
| Side | Controls | What they cover |
|---|---|---|
| Overdrive | Level, Gain, Tone | Low to medium gain, vintage voicing, amp pushing1 |
| Fuzz | Level, Fuzz | Classic silicon Fuzz Face style fuzz1 |
The two sides can be controlled individually or stacked together. Stacking puts the overdrive into the fuzz, or the fuzz into the overdrive depending on order, and Pedal of the Day called the result "a powerful drive/fuzz combo."1
What reviewers said
Pedal of the Day's verdict was that "the Pink Hellephant is an extremely versatile dirt box," suited to classic rock and roll tones and to players who value simplicity and versatility in one enclosure.1
