The SuperCool Spritz! Compressor is a compressor pedal from SuperCool Pedals built around an OTA (operational transconductance amplifier) circuit, the same kind of gain-cell design used in a number of classic optical-style compressors. Its defining feature is its simplicity: a single knob covers the compression control, making it a set-and-forget pedal for players who want leveling without menu diving or control clusters1.
What it does
As a compressor, the Spritz! evens out the difference between quiet and loud notes, sustaining them and smoothing a player's attack. The OTA topology is the heart of that: it is the gain-reduction element that the single knob drives. Because there is only one control, the pedal is aimed at players who want a fixed, musical amount of compression rather than detailed adjustment of threshold, ratio and the like1.
From Spritz! Compressor to Spritz! Saturator
The Spritz! Compressor is no longer the newest version of the design. On 1 May 2026, Guitar Pedal X reported that SuperCool had expanded the pedal: "SuperCool evolves the one-knob OTA Spritz! Compressor into the Spritz! Saturator". The newer Spritz! Saturator keeps the compression but adds overdrive character, with a switchable JFET Tube Emulator onboard, and moves from Mini to Compact format1.
"So one control becomes 4, as the Spritz! pedal expands from Mini to Compact Format."
For a player comparing the two: the original Spritz! Compressor is the one-knob, compression-only take, while the Saturator is the wider-ranging version that combines compression with drive. Players interested in the compression-plus-overdrive combination can read about the Spritz! Saturator, and other options in the category are covered on the Compressor Pedals page1.
