Boss took virtually every single type of modulation effect known to man and crammed them into a sturdy, travel-friendly stompbox to create the Boss MD-500 Modulation guitar multieffects pedal. The MD-500 features 12 modes and 28 modulation types, including classic effects and Boss originals, that you can tweak to your exact tastes and store in 297 onboard patch memories. There’s also an A/B Simul mode that lets you use two patches at once using a series/parallel connection or a mixed or split A/B output.

In terms of tonal control, GOKKO’s AXE MX80 guitar multi-effects processor is a cut above its brother, the AX10. You still get three built-in analog effects, although the Reverb effect has been replaced with Distortion. Nine dedicated control knobs give you complete tonal control over each effect, while a two-way FX Loop switch makes it extremely usable with your other stompboxes. The MX80 also features AUX and Headphone functions for plugging in an external audio player as well as XLR and 6.35 output jacks.
