The Unsound Circuitry Hyper Pozzum V2 is an analog pedal that combines three functions in one box: fuzz, booster and filter. RockBoard's PedalPedia lists it as a "FUZZ BOOSTER FILTER", and at its core the circuit stays close to the classic Univox hyper fuzz design, a pedal RockBoard's PedalPedia describes as "celebrated for its thunderous scooped BRRRRR for decades now"1.
What the V2 changes
The V2 revision, released in 2023, makes two changes to the original layout. It adds a Blend control, which the maker calls "the much called for Blend control", letting the player mix the fuzzed signal against the clean. It also replaces the original Voice switch with a Shift control, which RockBoard's PedalPedia says "further enhances the tonestack tweakability"1.
| Change | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blend control (new in V2) | Lets the player blend the fuzzed signal with the clean signal1 |
| Shift control (replaces the Voice switch) | Extends the tone stack tweakability1 |
How it fits a board
Because it is a fuzz, booster and filter in one enclosure, the Hyper Pozzum V2 can cover the work that would otherwise take separate pedals, such as a dedicated fuzz, a boost or a filter unit. The scooped mid character RockBoard's PedalPedia describes is a signature of the Univox hyper fuzz lineage, and the added Blend control is aimed at players who want to keep some of the untouched signal underneath the fuzz1.
The pedal is analog and draws 30mA at 9V DC, center negative1. Check your power supply's per-output current budget before adding it to a daisy chain with other pedals.
