As a player he has worked with a wide range of artists, and he has also designed pedals of his own, including the SM Fuzz, an old-school germanium fuzz pedal that MusicRadar covered on its return2.

McKeon's pedalboard, as he describes it himself, includes:

- The Nobels ODR-1 and ODR-mini overdrive pedals. Of the ODR-1 he says: "The Nobels ODR-1 sounds so natural and big. It keeps all of the tone from the amp, and adds just the right amount of drive and gain without taking anything. Killer."3
Pedal designer
McKeon designed the SM Fuzz, and MusicRadar's review team described it as "big news for anyone looking for an old-school germanium fuzz pedal without any of the associated reliability issues"2. Guitar.com notes that for McKeon, "all roads eventually led to one place: building his own"1.
