Tone City Audio

The mini pedal format is the heart of the range. Tone City describes the Tremble as "small enough to add to practically any pedalboard"², and the Kaffir Lime as "a small micro pedal that retains all of the features and functio..." of larger pedals³. The maker positions the whole line around saving board space without giving up control.

The TPS Series power supplies

The TPS Series is Tone City's line of pedalboard power supplies. Each model is described by the maker as a "high-quality multi-output all isolated pedal power supply"¹⁰¹¹, with the number in the name matching the number of outputs.

The TPS-5 runs from a DC 12V/3A adapter¹⁰. Beyond the TPS boxes, Tone City also makes the POWER STICK, which the maker calls "another power supply product that is very suitable for mini pedalboard"¹⁶.

Tone City recommends the TPS Series across its own pedal range, describing pedals such as the Tiny Spring, Heavenly Lake, Durple, Matcha Cream and Tape Machine as powered by a DC 9V supply, "such as TONECITY TPS SERIES All independent pedal power supply"¹⁷. The supplies are general-purpose pedalboard power supplies rather than dedicated Tone City accessories, so they can run other brands' 9V DC pedals.

The mini pedal range

Most Tone City pedals sit in the maker's MINI product group¹⁸. The range spans several effect types:

• Overdrive and boost: the Nashville, a TS-style overdrive the maker says works with the clean channel of nearly any amplifier and can push an already-overdriven amp deeper into saturation¹⁸; the Bad Horse overdrive¹⁹; the All Spark low-gain boost⁶; the Kaffir Lime overdrive/boost¹⁸¹⁹⁶; the Dry Martini overdrive¹⁸¹⁹⁶

• Reverb and delay: the Tiny Spring spring reverb¹; the Blue Crystal, described by the maker as hand-built to audiophile-grade standards¹²³
• Utility: the Buzz Bee buffer and boost, designed to solve signal loss²⁴

The Tiny Spring is one of the range's signature pedals. Tone City describes it as "an ultimate combination of the analogue and digital reverb. It gives you realistic spring reverb sounds with its signature warmth," and says it "will not influence the features of the original sound when used together with distortion and overdrive pedals"¹.

Several pedals share circuitry within the range. The Double Durple's Durple side is based on the original Durple pedal, a mid-gain, versatile drive in a mini format²⁵, and the Big Rumble features an independent clean boost circuit, just like the Holy Aura distortion²⁶.

Tone City's product pages carry the tagline "Analog Pedals & Power supplies"¹, and the company's product range covers both guitar effect pedals and multi pedal power supplies¹. The Tiny Spring stands out in approach, combining analog and digital reverb¹.
