The MT Bricks B-Lead is a tube preamp pedal from AMT Electronics, a maker whose preamp range also includes units like the P1 and B1. It is aimed at players who want an amp-style front end on a pedalboard: an analog preamp stage feeding a selectable power amp section, with a compressor, a noise gate and a speaker simulation built in. AMT's own demo video presents it as a lead-oriented preamp, running through its sounds without narration1.
What it does
The signal path is built from distinct blocks, each of which shapes the sound in a different way:
- Analog preamp with three modes: Clean, Low gain and High gain, covering everything from untouched clean tones to driven lead sounds1
- Power amp section with 9 types, letting the preamp be paired with different power amp characters1
- Compressor for evening out dynamics1
- Noise Gate, set globally rather than per preset, so one gate setting applies across the unit1
- IR cab sim, which uses one impulse response for both left and right channels per preset1
The IR cab sim means the B-Lead can feed a power amp and real speaker cabinet, or go direct to a mixer or audio interface with the speaker simulation doing the cabinet work. Because the gate is a global setting, a player dials it once for their rig rather than adjusting it preset by preset1.
AMT demonstrated the B-Lead in a demo video posted by its media center, titled as a tube preamp demo with no talking, letting the preamp's own sounds carry the presentation1.
