AMT Electronics B1

The AMT Electronics B1 is a preamp pedal from the Russian maker's Legend Amp series, a line of amp-style preamps that also includes the AMT Electronics P1 and AMT Electronics S1. AMT describes it as a preamp with amp and cab simulation features, built around an analog preamp section backed by digital power amp and cabinet simulation¹. The maker's own demo material frames it as a modern metal tone tool².

What it does

The B1 combines an analog gain stage with digital modeling blocks. AMT's feature list for the pedal breaks down like this³⁵:

• Analog preamp with Clean, Low gain and High gain modes
• Power amp simulation with 9 types
• Parametric Pre/Post EQ
• IR cabsim, holding 1 IR for both L/R channels per preset
• Noise Gate, a global setting rather than a per-preset one

The analog front end handles the gain stages, while the power amp block, the parametric EQ and the cabinet IR shape what comes after it. Because the cab simulation is per preset rather than per channel, both L/R channels of a preset share the same IR³.

Using it with an amp

AMT markets the B1 under the heading "B1 - to amp", positioning it as a preamp you can run into the front end or return of a conventional guitar amplifier¹. The global noise gate matters in that context: it applies across the pedal rather than being set per preset, which is worth knowing when switching between the Clean and High gain modes¹⁵.

The Legend series

The B1 is a preamp with amp and cab simulation features¹. Its analog preamp section offers Clean, Low gain and High gain modes, the power amp section provides 9 types, and each preset carries an IR cabsim with 1 IR for both L/R channels⁵. A Noise Gate is available as a global setting⁴².
