The Behringer CC300 Space-C is a chorus pedal based on the Boss DC-2 Dimension Chorus. Like the DC-2, it uses BBD chips, the bucket-brigade devices that older analog chorus and delay circuits rely on to shift and double the signal1. It sits in the same family as Behringer's other budget chorus pedals, such as the UC100 Ultra Chorus and the Chorus Symphony1.
The Space-C is discontinued. MusicRadar's 2019 review listed it at £60 used, so finding one means shopping the secondhand market1.
What it does and how it differs from the DC-2
The Space-C follows the DC-2's approach to chorus, using BBD chips rather than the digital approach found in many modern chorus pedals1. The one difference reviewers flagged concerns headroom, the amount of signal the circuit can take before it distorts. MusicRadar's review found that "due to using a different voltage regulator, the pedal has reduced headroom compared to the DC-2"1. In practice, that means a hot signal or an aggressive picking attack may push the Space-C into distortion where the original DC-2 would stay clean.
