The TNYDUMBLE is what BLAMMO! Electronics calls a "MODIFIED DUMBLE INSPIRED PEDAL": an overdrive with a separated JFET-based clean boost in one box. It is the smaller, pedalboard-friendly version of the company's NOTADUMBLE, a Dumble-style DIY pedal kit that has now been discontinued, so the TNYDUMBLE is where that circuit lives on1.

Controls and circuits

The pedal splits its two halves so each can be used on its own or together. BLAMMO! says it "separated the JFET based clean boost from the overdrive circuit," and added a high frequency tone control to the boost side that sits flat at noon, subtly boosts the top-end clockwise and cuts slightly to the left. The boost tone works well with the input knob, which cuts low-end and gain simultaneously1.

The overdrive half remains unchanged and true to the original, including its internal presence control, and uses asymmetrical mosfet clipping1. An order switch is included "for more versatility and tonal possibilities," letting you choose which circuit runs first when both are active1. That same idea appears on the related JHS NOTADÜMBLË V2, where a front slide switch chooses which channel runs first in series when both are active2.

ControlWhat it does
InputCuts low-end and gain simultaneously
Boost toneHigh frequency control, flat at noon, boosts top-end clockwise, cuts slightly left
Order switchChanges the running order of the overdrive and boost circuits
Presence (internal)Overdrive circuit presence, unchanged from the original

With both circuits engaged the TNYDUMBLE draws 60mA, twice the 32mA of a single circuit. It runs on a standard 2.1mm center negative Boss-style DC jack1.

Where it came from

The TNYDUMBLE is a modified Dumble-inspired pedal1. Its overdrive half remains unchanged and true to the original, including the internal presence control, while the maker separated the JFET-based clean boost from the overdrive circuit and added a high frequency tone control to the boost side1.

BLAMMO! flags on its product page that Limited Edition graphics are almost gone1. A version select option is offered at purchase, and a user guide is available as a download from the product page1.

BLAMMO! builds several other boost-adjacent circuits, including the Zap Master treble booster and the Utility Boost; for the wider category, see Boost Pedals and Overdrive Pedals.

Questions

Is the BLAMMO! TNYDUMBLE true bypass?

Yes. BLAMMO! says the TNYDUMBLE uses true bypass with no-click soft switching: the mechanical 3PDT foot switches have been modified to a setup that uses an electronic relay base, so switching is quiet under foot.

What size is the TNYDUMBLE enclosure?

It comes in a 125B enclosure measuring 4.8 x 2.6 x 1.55 inches, which BLAMMO! describes as the smaller, pedalboard-friendly version of its NOTADUMBLE kit.

Is the NOTADUMBLE still made?

No. BLAMMO! describes the NOTADUMBLE as a super popular Dumble style DIY pedal kit that has now been discontinued. The TNYDUMBLE carries the circuit forward in a smaller enclosure.

What does the order switch do on the TNYDUMBLE?

The TNYDUMBLE combines an overdrive circuit and a separated JFET-based clean boost. The order switch changes the order of the two circuits for more versatility and tonal possibilities, so you can choose whether the boost feeds the overdrive or sits after it.

Where is the TNYDUMBLE built?

BLAMMO! assembles the TNYDUMBLE by hand in Portland, Oregon.
