Boss GX-10 Guitar Effects Processor

The Boss GX-10 is a guitar effects processor: a multi-effects unit that combines amp modeling and effects in one floor unit, for guitar and bass alike. Premier Guitar described it at its announcement as "a powerful new amp and effects processor for guitar and bass"¹. It carries the core sound engine and color touch display from the Boss GX-100, which was released in 2022¹.

What it does

As a multi-effects floor unit, the GX-10 puts amp and effects processing under the player's feet in a single pedal, in the same product family as Boss's other Guitar Effects Processors such as the GT-1000CORE and the GX-100³⁴¹. Boss positions the GX-10 below the GX-100 in the range, sharing that unit's core sound engine and touch display in a smaller format¹.

Controls: the onboard expression pedal

The built-in expression pedal is central to how the GX-10 is played. By default, it toggles between volume and wah, and pulling the pedal back activates the tuner. The pedal's behavior is not fixed: it can be reassigned through the unit's assign matrix¹.

That default setup covers the most common floor-unit jobs in one motion: volume swells, wah rocking, and silent tuning between songs, all without touching a menu during play¹.

Where it sits in Boss's range

The GX-10 is part of a broader Boss line of processors. The GX-100, from which it takes its engine and display, is itself described by Boss as a Guitar Effects Processor⁴¹, as is the GT-1000CORE⁴. Players comparing the GX-10 against other compact Boss units may also look at the ME-90, the GT-1, or the newer EX-4 Effects Expander.

Availability and price

Premier Guitar reported in January 2025 that the GX-10 "is available now for purchase at authorized U.S. Boss retailers for $399.9"¹. That figure is the US list price as reported at announcement.
